2 weeks ago I met @hnicholsillustration after she stopped in at @eatrewild for a matcha latte. She then graciously agreed to come on my podcast and share her story (link in my bio)... Only 2 weeks being open and so many interesting people are coming out of the woodwork here in Quincy. It’s so freakin cool! We set off a fire alarm on opening night, we ran out of food, our draft system malfunctioned, ice machine broke, we lost our chef, I physically got sick (never happens)... that was week 1... my heart dropped to the floor on so many occasions... but I’m still standing, and I got a whole lot of fight left in me... we’ll be running like a well oiled machine in no time... thank you for all who have supported us! The universe responds not to what we want, but to who we are being - @officialdrjoedispenza ... this was the most incredible meditation spot I’ve ever experienced. Up so high away from any form of civilization, there was a pure silence and connectedness to something much larger than me... A reminder that although I’m in full control, I must also surrender. Veg crew in the house tonight at @eatrewild The tequila aged version of Wild Child, a collaboration with our friends at Barrel House Z, will be on draft at @eatrewild opening on Saturday the 6th!... an American Amber Ale aged in a tequila barrel. So much flavor for a 5.4% 🤤🍺🤙 The storm soon cometh. #eatrewild Another town, another hike, another reason I freakin love Switzerland 🇨🇭... the Matterhorn was as impressive as I’ve heard. Went up to about 9,000 ft today... I can barely go 100 yards before I have to stop and take another photo. This country is absolutely spectacular... this may become annual for me. Balance. Something I needed crossing that ridge behind me (def the diciest hike I’ve done)... A younger me would have cancelled this trip... but I have learned over the years that when I feel that little lack of balance, that little decline in my health, grinding through isn’t the answer... those periods always result in me sacrificing my health to some extent, when realistically I could have eased up and achieved the same outcomes... now when I feel that imbalance, I book the trip, I go for the run, I go to that dinner with the fam, I watch that Netflix show, I chill out and let go... because in the long term, it’ll keep me sharp, it’ll keep me healthy, it’ll keep me in the game. September 29. #eatrewild My college trainer and good buddy Matt was paralyzed in a car accident in the Fall of 2009. Weeks later he was texting me and his brother @mcclune7 our workouts for December break. Less than 6 months later he was training us for the summer as if nothing had ever happened! He didn’t let us skip a single workout during that time. He kept training, he kept working out himself, and he kept moving forward... He is one of the most mentally tough and hard working dudes I’ve ever known... I had the opportunity of having him on the podcast this week. We talk about mindset, perception, the power of one step at a time, nutrition, and more... Damn kid keeps trying and keeps falling. Do you throw in the towel?.... of course not! Because the kid at some point is going to walk. My Maine squeeze.... congrats @kristinmelcher Had a blast back at @barrelhousez today brewing “Wild Child”, an American Amber Ale that will eventually be aged in a barrel that was once a tequila barrel and a bourbon barrel before that... gunna be Wild! Gunna be Re-Wild 😜... first few kegs will be poured at Rewild Plant + Beer Fest @paragonboardwalk on 9/8 and 9/9 (link to event tix in my bio!).... thanks to the actual brewers @cjdion and @ventresca89 🙌 Teaming up with my man @crb99 and @paragonboardwalk for a big 2-Day event in September... plant food, craft beer, music, art... will announce this weekend! I’m fired up!... Artwork by the legend himself @brandalizm + crew. Choice: worry about all the things that could go wrong and all the challenges still to come... OR trust in the process, trust that I’m exactly where I’m meant to be, that it’s all going to work out... maybe pour a beer, take a deep breath, and surrender to the bigger picture. Sunday Funday... collectively over 1,000 burpees and 10,000 yards of sprints/jog... followed by jackfruit 🌮 , guac 🥑 , and grilled 🌽 #thrivingplantbased So many successful people have told me that it’s the climb that they loved, not the view at the top. The view at the top didn’t give them happiness. If you’re miserably climbing and think the top is going to fill some void in your life, change the direction of your climb. Enjoy the climb and you’ll enjoy the view.
